Kahini Arte-Merchant gallivants in Los Angeles

Monday, May 07, 2018

Artist Kahini Arte-Merchant, who when we last posted was chronicling images of Mumbai city in her social media column for friends, has taken wing to the US for a holiday. Kahini is in the City of Angels as she likes to call Los Angeles and is loving every bit of it. Daughter Tehzeeb Lakhani clicked her mum in a blue-striped top and with an attractive neckpiece that came from the Philippines, the latter being a gift from Tehzeeb. The location was The Grove, a retail and entertainment complex in LA located on parts of the historical Farmer’s Market there. For her look on that particular day, (which reminds us in part of actress Meryl Streep, we confess) Kahini got compliments from 284 friends on social media including actress Kimi Katkar-Sheorey, artist Papri Bose and dancer Astad Deboo. Said Kahini in a WhatsApp message to us: “I am here on holiday. I’ve just landed a few days ago and am planning to visit the Getty Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA) and the Museum of Tolerance soon.” For someone who’s an artist, that sounds like a working holiday to us, perhaps?
