Dinesh Raheja workshop

Friday, June 21, 2019

Film journalist and historian Dinesh Raheja is to hold his next workshop for aspiring Bollywood entrants on Sunday, 23 June. The workshop will include actress Suzanne Bernert and casting director Karan Mally speaking about the workings of the film industry. Suzanne, who recently portrayed the role of Sonia Gandhi in ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’, seemed quite enthused at the prospect of the upcoming interaction. “A lot of people are curious about how I made it as an actress here,” she says. “No big shot brought me into the industry. On the contrary, I worked my way forward in a number of diverse roles over the last 15 years. I will be doing an interaction with the students and, hopefully, imparting to them some tips.” Adds Suzanne: “I’m quite at ease about talking with a group of people, especially if it comprises aspiring actors and actresses.” Karan, who is part of the well-known Nandini Shrikent casting that has done the casting for ‘Gully Boy’, ‘Tumhari Sulu’ and the forthcoming ‘Mission Mangal’ (Akshay-Vidya Balan), as well as Mira Nair's ‘A Suitable Boy’ and Farhan Akhtar's ‘Toofan’, will assess the participants’ mock auditions. Besides this, the workshop will also instruct attendees on how to build rapport with the media, tips on shooting glamour portfolio photographs and will include a section on film history.  The six-hour workshop will take place from 2-8 pm in Andheri (W). In case readers are interested in enrolling (it’s not free-of-cost, though), they may register by calling 9820019717 in advance.
