Madhavi Nritya Vidyalaya and Veritas Advertising presented the programme of classical music and dance known as Natya Arpanam Vishu Kaineetam 2018 at Vardhaman Fantasy in Mira Road. It was exciting to watch children dance with lot of enthusiasm and sincerity.

Madhavi Nritya Vidyalaya is established by Bharatanatyam exponent, Guru Unnikrishnan Vasu, who has trained several aspirants in the field of Bharatanatyam and Mohiniattam. The programme commenced with Ottam Thulal which is otherwise known as poor man's Kathakali, as the costume and head gear is not so elaborate like Kathakali, but follows the same language of gestures, gesticulations, narration in musical format and story telling, often pointing out the ills of society in a comic pattern. The story presented was Kalyanasougandhikam and performed by C Balakrishnan.

The next act, "Seeta Apaharam" depicted how Seeta was abducted by Ravana, performed in Kerala Natanam style which uses more of drama and less of dance. It was a great performance by Dr. Sajeevan Nair and his talented daughter Vidya who donned the role of Seeta.

Students of Madhavi Nritya Vidyalaya performed some items in the Bharatanatyam and Mohiniattam style, however the attraction of the evening was Naadodi Nrityam and folk dance Thiruvathirakali which is performed on festive occasions by women which has simple, graceful and circular movements danced in circles. Veritas Advertising presented the Natya Thilakam award to upcoming talented dancers, Mahdurima Unnikrishnan and Keerthana Regi. On the whole, a fine attempt by young children.
