The Art of Living Academy of Performing Arts organised its ALAP Utsav with various events. A unique event in the ongoing festival was 'Swantaah Sukhaay' organized in collaboration with ALPIKA and NCPA Mumbai Dance Season. The event curated by Renu Sharma has the motto 'Art for Inner Happiness', held at the Nath Gagangiri Ashram at Malabar Hill.

The theme given to all the artists was 'Sri' in tribute to spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravishankar. The evening began with beautiful Guru shlokas rendered by Shibani Sachdeva followed by Nandini Basu presenting the popular Meera bhajan- "Karam ki Gati Nyari Santo", followed by Kathak by Sunil Sunkara in the style of Kathavaachan. He presented a Harihara Stotram and a rare Vishnu Taal. This was followed by Shakti Peetha Sthapana Katha where Sunil under direction of Renu Sharma has linked stories from Tulsidas Ramcharitramanas and Lacchu Maharaj Daksh Yagna to present the incidents that lead to Sati immolating herself. This was accompanied by Amit Mishra on Tabla, Shrirang Tembe on Vocal ,Rudraksh Sakhrikar on Sarangi and Paullumi Mukheerjee on Narration.

Paullumi and Sunil presented a unique piece in Kathak theatre style - "Gandhari's curse" directed by Hemant Hazare. The anger and desperation felt by a mother who has lost all her son's was brought to life by Paullumi' s rendition of Gandhari, in dramatic and impressive manner. Sunil presented a Krishna that in contrast to Gandhari was an epitome of the Shanta Rasa. A surprise element in the end was when Sunil and Paullumi danced into a beautiful song that presented the core philosophy of the Gita -' Main hoon manzil, main hoon safar bhi, main hi musafir hoon, along with live painting of the Sri Tattva by Vijita Pillai. Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya presented a Mohinattam choreography by Padmabhushan Dr Kanak Rele on the 'Sri Yantra', performed by Dr Dimple Rajesh, Vaidehi Rele Lal, Radhika Nair, Unnati Ajmera and Mithila Padhya, incorporating the significance of five aspects of Tattva and Yantra.

The program was graced by Dr. Uma Rele principal of Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya. The other performers of the evening were Tanvi Palav and Lalita Soni.
