Takshashila Nrityakala Mandir Instute (Thane) presented one of their senior disciples, Madhura Pawaskar at the Nalanda Nritotsava, organised by Nalanda Dance Research Centre at Kanaka Sabha in Juhu. Madhura’s Bharatanatyam performance was noteworthy for its technical quality and subtle expressions.

Madhura Pawaskar is a disciple of Guru  Kashmira Trivedi who heads  Takshashila Nrityakala Mandir Institute, Thane. Over the years Takshashila has trained several dance aspirants in Bharatanatyam. After her 'arangetram' (first public performance) in 2001, Madhura completed her 'visharad' (degree) too. She has performed in various prestigious festivals such as Mohanam Keralam,  Jathis Festival, Delhi,  Satyabhama Yuva Nrityotsav, Vishakhapatnam, Nittya Akhanda Nrittam (Non-stop Bharatnatyam marathon) organised by Ganesa Natyalaya in Delhi and so on.

Mahdura performed 'varnam' set in Rupakam 'talam' and Bhairavi raga. In this 'varnam', the 'nayika' (heroine) is a devotee of Lord Shiva and she is requesting him to pay a little attention to her, but the Lord is not listening as Ganga is seated on his head and goddess Parvati is his  wife. Madhura succeeds in portraying the subtle expressions and plight of the heroine.  This 'kriti' was followed by 'thillana' set in Adi 'talam' and Hindolam raga, which was danced to perfection.

After her performance, Madhura was blessed by veteran danseuse Padmabhushan Dr Kanak Rele. Madhura said “With the blessings of my guru Kashmira Trivedi and guidance from guru  Deepak Mazumdar, I had the honour to be a part of The Nalanda's Nrityotsava 2018. It was the proud movement for me to perform in the presence of  Padmabhushan Dr Kanak Rele, Dr  Uma Rele  and many more artists and art lovers. I would like to thank  Kashmira Trivedi from the bottom of my heart because she had suggested me to apply for this festival and for her guidance.” Madhura is quite talented and deserves encouragement.
