Rasika Ranjani Sabha, Ghatkopar, presented a scintillating Bharata Natyam performance by Krupa Ravi at Kanchi Kamakshi Sabhagriha in Ghatkopar (East). Krupa created a spell on the audience with her vivacious performance, blending well with precise and remarkable technique.

Krupa Ravi is the disciple of renowned Bharata Natyam and Kuchipudi exponent Dr Ananda Shankar Jayant. She made a fine start with Shree Vignarajebaje, seeking the blessings of Lord Ganesh, followed with the piece-de-resistance of the evening Devi Upasana, choreography by Dr Ananda, that symbolised the goddess as the warrior princess Meenakshi, as the celestial manifestation of the varied attributes of the goddess  being ferocious, beautiful, elegant, powerful and benevolent too. Blessed with large sparkling eyes, Krupa practically takes the audience on a journey of expressional delight and sublime bliss.

In the Subramanya Bharati composition 'Dikka Tereyate Kaatil' the heroine is in serach of Lord Krishna in the forest. Tthe Maad Mekkim Kanne featured Lord Krishna as the cowherd. The most creditable aspect of Krupa's performance is her complete involvement and passion that excites the spectators and makes her performance a memorable one. Another number that drew wonderful appreciation from the audience was the incorporation of the Dashavataram along with the Thillana, a rare and unique choreography by Dr Ananda. Particularly the fine mixture of the dramatic avatara of Lord Vishnu along with the display of intricate rhythmic patterns with stylised movements and wonderful music by Prema Ramamurthy made this number unique and unusual. Raiskas would love to watch Krupa again as she is sheer visual poetry.
