Bhavan's Cultural Centre and Kaishiki Dance Academy presented a unique programme of dance drama productions at the Pranganga amphitheatre in Andheri. Besides the selection of unusual themes and stories, the performance was appealing for the dramatisation, powerful music and fine synchronisation of movements and expressions.
Namrata Gupta is an ardent disciple of Guru Daksha Mashruwala of Kaishiki Dance Academy. Their latest choreography 'Arksh' interprets the varied Zodiacs and was interesting to watch as to how the different characteristics could be interpreted in the dance medium with enthralling music composed by Pandit Nayan Ghosh.
The audience was thrilled to watch the twelve Zodiac signs come alive on the stage with powerful and dramatic portrayals, the most impressive being Scorpio, the lion or Leo or the duality in Gemini. With fine control over varied movements in Odissi and creative dancing Namrata truly dazzled over the Zodiacs that created a lasting impression, proving her calibre as an excellent performer. Kudos to Daksha Mashruwala for the choreography and the entire team of musicians
The programme also exposed some unusual Greek, Japanese and Australian aboriginals in the form of Crossing Oceans, The Hunter, The Serpent and The Princess and the highlight was the performance by Revanta Sarabhai, It was an evening of unusual themes and presentation,
