Astad Deboo’s dance concert
The prominent element of music goes hand in hand with dance. Padma Shri, Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee and also Yagnaraman Living Legend Awardee, India’s finest contemporary dancer Astad Deboo will be collaborating with noted rudraveena player and Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee Mohi Baha’ud-din Dagar, Pelva Naik on vocals, Pratap Awad on pakhawaj and Shibu Maity on taanpura, to discover this interconnection between contemporary dance and classical music. Tata Theatre, Friday, 30th November – 6.30 pm.
Award to the teacher
Noted danseuse and classical singer Chhaya Bhanudas Sakhare was felicitated with Best Teacher Mayor’s award at “Giranar Sangeet Mahotsav 2018” organized by Patel Cultural Foundation and Akhand Bharat at Junagadh in Gujarat. Basically from Marathwada in Maharashtra, Sakhare is adapt at Ghazal, Thumri, bhajan and other forms of singing. She has also lent her voice to some Hindi films.

Trailer of 'Mumbai Pune Mumbai- 3' released
Eight years after the success of 'Mumbai Pune Mumbai' and its successful sequel two years ago, the third part of the film is all set to hit screens across the State on December 7, creating a new record of being the first Marathi movie to have been produced in three sequels. The trailer of this awaited sequel was recently released in Mumbai in the presence of the lead pair Swapnil Joshi and Mukta Barve, Director Satish Rajwade, Sanjay Chhabria, Producer, Everest Entertainment, Amit Bhanushali, Co-Producer, 52 Friday Cinemas and Nandu Ahuja of Eros International, were present. The film also has a host of eminent stalwarts like Rohini Hattangadi, Prashant Damle, Savita Prabhune, Suhas Joshi, Mangal Kenkre and Vijay Kenkre. Satish Rajwade said, “Mumbai Pune Mumbai (MPM) has now become a cult, setting a trend of one of its kind love story and has become a habit with the audience.”

#MeToo theme in Marathi movie
A Marathi film ”Ghar Hota Mennacha”, based on the recent “#MeToo” movement theme, which has been creating waves at national and international level, and which seeks to give a message to women to unite, is slated to be released on November 30. The film is written, scripted and directed by Rajesh Chavan, who also has penned the dialogues. The film is presented mainly with graphic and animation. The story revolves around Vasundhara (Alka Kubal-Athalye), whose husband is too busy in theatre and as such she is over burdened with family responsibilities. She has to go out where she gets trapped in bad company. In the film she expresses her woes through the medium of graphics. Besides Alka Kubal, Mohan Joshi, Avinash Narkar, Pallavi Subhash, Ashalata Wabgaonkar, Revindra Berde, Shital Shukla and Siddharth Jadhav are featured in important roles. Music is by Ashok-ji Patki.

‘Tu Tithe Asaave ‘-- releasing soon
On the strength of your self-confidence, untying the knots of your emotions and how you can fulfill your dreams, is what the movie ‘Tu Tithe Asaave’ (releasing Dec 7th) shows you.‘Tu Tithe Asave’ is produced by Ganesh-ji Patil and directed by Santosh Gaikwad. Singers Adarsh Shinde, Neha Rajpal, Vaishali Maade, Swapnil Bandodkar, Bela Shende, Jasraj Joshi and Dhanashri Burbure have sung the songs. The movie unfolds the musical journey of Malhaar, who is fond of singing, from a small village to becoming a famous singer. Along with the handsome pair of Bhushan Pradhan and Pallavi Patil, Mohan Joshi, Arun Nalawade, Vijay Patkar, Jaywant Wadkar, Sameer Dharmadhikari, Master Tejas Patil, Shrikant W, Abhilasha P and Vishakha D are in the film.
