Pu La Deshpande bio-pic
A biopic 'Bhai...Vyakti Ki Valli', on the life and times of multi-faceted humorist, author, actor, director, playwright, dramatist, musician, orator, all rolled into one, P L Deshpande is being produced by Viacom18. The title has been borrowed from one of his books... 'Vyakti Ani Valli'. The film is being directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, screenplay is by Ganesh Matkari, while dialogues have been penned by Ratnakar Matkari. Iravati Harshe has essayed the role of Sunita, wife of P L Deshpande. Sagar Deshmukh, Iravati, Mahesh, Dalip Tahil, Shivaji Satam, Sachin Khedekar, Sunil Barve, Abhijit Deshpande and other celebs attended the launch function.
Classic dramas to be restaged
The Mumbai Marathi Sahitya Sangh (MMSS), GirgaonGirgaon, has decided to restage some of the renowned classic dramas at Bhalerao Sabhagriha, at nominal rates from November 24 onwards. This was announced by MMSS office bearers, Dr Bal Bhalerao, Pramod Pawar and Jayant Savarkar. The show of renowned the 'Vaje Paul Aple' written by Vishram Bedekar will be held all over from November 24  onwards. Jayant Savarkar is directing the play, while Abhijit Chavan is playing the central character of 'Bhagwant'. The play, 'Tilak Aani Agarkar', based on the friendship between L.Tilak and G G Agarkar, will also be staged. The play is being directed by Kaustubh Savarkar. There will also be a reading session in which Gopal Joshi (Unman Bankar), Gopalrao Agarkar (Angad Mhaskar) etc. and theatre artistes of 'Shri Natyaranga-Karjat' will participate.

‘Vanjar’ poster released
A poster of upcoming Marathi film ‘Vanjar’, is based on the environment, including tree plantation and conservation, by Vidya Gavai, who has also written the story and screenplay. Ranraobhau Ghagre is the production chief. 'Vanjar' becomes the first Marathi film to release the poster before commencement of production.

Dadar-Matunga Cult-Centre 66th anniversary
A special music festival will be organised from November 16 to 18 at 5 pm on the occasion of the Dadar-Matunga Cult-Centre's 66th anniversary. Noted artistes Shubha Mudgal, Rupak Kulkarni and Debpriya Adhikari will perform. The entry is FREE. The festival will be inaugurated on November 16 with performance by Debpriya Adhikari (disciple of late Girijdevi). On November 17 there will be a flute recital by Rupak Kulkarni (disciple of Hariprasad C ) and the programme will be concluded on November 18 with performances by Shobha Mudgal. Legends like Manik Verma, Bhimsen Joshi, Devki Pandit and others have performed in the past at this festival

Swar-Nritya utsav
The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Mumbai, in collaboration with Ch. Shivaji Maharaj Smarak Samiti, is presenting an evening of Music & Dance by Shri Bhaskar Mukhopadhyay (Slide Guitar with tabla), which will be followed by Odissi dance on Friday  November 16 at 6.30 pm at Kala V Auditorium, P. Thackerary Krida Sankul, Shahaji Marg, Vile Parle (East).

Re-inventing romance
Marathi film 'Love You Zindagi', produced by Sachinbhau Bamgude and written and directed by Manoj Sawant, is slated to hit cinema houses on December 14 all over Maharashtra. Seasoned actor Sachin Pilgaonkar and Kavita Lad and Prarthana Behere are the duo in the film. The story revolves around Aniruddh Date (Sachin Pilgaonkar), a common man, who wants to reinvent romance and live life delightfully like a young man, even at a matured age, though he has his limitations. Stylish yet playful Prarthana B, known for her charming smile, is essaying an important role.
