Aani Kashinath Ghanekar bio-pic trailer out
The trailer of Marathi film Aani Dr Kashinath Ghanekar, a biopic based on his life and times scheduled to be released on November 8 was recently released in presence of its lead cast. The teasers of the film presented by Viacom 18 Studios have already received over 4.50 lakh views. The movie is directed by Abhijeet Deshpande and features - Subodh Bhave (Dr Kashinath Ghanekar) Sonali Kulkarni (Sulochana), Sumeet Raghavan (Dr Shriram Lagu), Mohan Joshi (Bhalji Pendharkar), Anand Ingale (Prof. Vasant Kanetkar), Prasad Oak (Prabhakar Panshikar), Vaideshi Parshurami (Kanchan Ghanekar), Nandita Dhuri (Iravati Ghanekar). Dr. Ghanekar is a veteran actor who appeared in a number of plays and Marathi and films between 1960 and 1980. The role that made him very popular was that of Sambhaji in the play Raigadhala Jevha Jaag Yete written by playwright, Vasant Kanetkar. Some of the noted plays he acted in were: Ashrunchi Zhaali Fule, Garambicha Baapu, Sundar Mi Honnaar and Madhumanjiri.

Nritya mahotsav
Maharashtra Lalit Kala Nidhi, a prestigious institution in collaboration with Y.B.Chavan Centre has organised one day Nritya Mahotsav at Y.B.Chavan Centre's Main Auditorium , Opp Mantralaya on Thursday , October 25 at 6.30 pm featuring 3 most accomplished Dancers Kshitija Barve , Rujuta Soman and Shubhada Varadkar.

Marathi play ‘Natsamrat’
Zee Marathi and Ekdant will be presenting VV Shirwadkar's (Kusumagraj) critically acclaimed Marathi play Natsamrat, on November 4 in which noted actor Mohan Joshi is essaying the role of Ganpatrao Belwalkar (Appasaheb Belwalkar). This is the Shakespearean tragedy, a story of Belwalkar, the reigning king of the stage who came out of the theatre but could not get theatre out of him. He lived the glory of golden era of Marathi stage and played all the Shakespearean characters with gusto. Several eminent actors - Dr Sriram Lagu, Datta Bhatt, Satish Dubhashi, Yashwant Datt and Upendra Date have all previously performed the role of Belwalkar. Noted actress Rohini Hattiangadi is essaying the role of Kaveri. Sushil Inamdar, Bhakti Desai, Shweta Mehendale, Subhankar Tawde, Abhijit Zunzarrao and many more are in various roles.

Grand muhurat of ‘Pravaas’
A shagun muhurat of Marathi film Pravaas, which seeks to present different perspective of journey, was performed in a grand function. The journey is an indivisible part of our life, which begins from the time we are born and teaches us something new at every stage, thus enriching our lives. Veteran actor Ashok Saraf and noted actress Padmini Kolhapure are acting together for the first time. Vikram Gokhale, Rajat Kapoor, Shashank Udapurkar and others are also essaying important roles. The film produced by Om Chhangani is written and directed by Shashank Udapurkar. Well known music directors Salim-Suleman from the Hindi film industry have scored the music. They are scoring the music for the Marathi film for the first time. On the occasion, Ashok Saraf expressed happiness for getting an opportunity to essay a different role in this film, in his fifty years long career. He expressed confidence that the film would give the audience a totally different experience. Padmini Kolhapure was happy that after a long time, she will be acting in a Marathi film.
