‘Lagi To Chhagi’, a comedy suspense thriller
After making his debut with ‘Canvas’, Shivdarshan alias Shibu Sable is  all set to come up with a comedy suspense thriller called ‘Lagi Toh Chhagi’. He has produced ‘Lagi Toh Chhagi’, with Deepti Vichare, Swati Fadtare and Ajit Patil. It is the third film for Shivdarshan, who is following the tradition of his grandfather renowned lyricist Padmashri late Shahir Sable. Abhijit Satam, playing the lead role in the film is the son of seasoned actor Shivaji Satam. The highlight of this film is a song penned by Devdatt Sable, 40 years ago, which has been included in this film. The film also stars Nikita Girdhar, Ravinder Singh Bakshi, Milind Uke, Yogesh Soman, Asit Redij, Shaila Kanekar, Raju Bavdekar, Sagar Athlekar, Mahesh Subhedar, Akshay Bhosale and Surender Pal.

96th Pratahswar by Pancham Nishad
Uniquely, Indian music is played to rāgas (melodic scales), which are prescribed for a particular time of day, a mood, or a season. This traditional early morning concert of 96th Pratahswar by Pancham Nishad presents one of the finest vocalists par excellence, the septuagenarian Jayashree Patnekar accompanied by Bharat Kamat on Tabla and Suyog Kundalkar on Harmonium at Kala Prangan, Pu. La. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy, Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi this Sunday, at 6.30 am.

‘Lokrang’
Mumbakars will be treated to a feast of a three day long festival of folk art “Lokrang” being organised daily at 7.30 pm, beginning today which will be on until May 25. The festival will be held at Damodar Hall, Parel in Central Mumbai, by the “Maharashtra Sanskritik Abhiyan Nyas” which is entering its 18th year. Koli and Agri communities have their own identity and lively dances, which involve elements like sea, fishing and related activities. Dancers wearing colourful costumes will present thrilling dances. The festival will begin with “Daryacha Darara”, in which a host of folk songs and events will be presented by Arun Pede and Vesavkar Mandali. The organising team led by President Kisan Jadhav and comprising members Ashok Sawant, Bala Khopde, Raju Sherwade, Santosh Parab and Sayali Parab are striving hard to ensure that the program becomes a stupendous success.

Khayyam to donate lifetime savings
The veteran music director Padma Bhushan Khayyam has announced that his “KPJ Charitable Trust” would continue to donate his earnings for welfare of cine workers, technicians and artists even after his death. The seven members of the trust include: Khayyam (Mohammed Zahur Hashmi), his wife Jagjeet Kaur and five members, Anup Jalota, Talat Aziz, Kishan Sharma, Bhupendra Singh and Uttam Singh. Addressing the media in Mumbai, along with his wife Jagjeet Kaur and Anup Jalota, the 92-year-old octogenarian said that the film industry has given him so much in terms of wealth and fame, that he  began donating Rs.1.5 lakh rupees every year to the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) to take care of the needy workers.
