Swar-saveraa
The 94th Pratahswar,  the early morning raga series by Pancham Nishad, invites you all to come and listen to a soothing musical concert that will feature a live performance by magnificent classical singer – Mohammed Aman, a young talented vocalist from Rajasthan accompanied by Prasad Padhye on (tabla) and Niranjan Lele on (harmonium). The morning concert will be held at Kala Prangan, Pu. La. Deshpande, Maharashtra Kala Academy, Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi,  on Sunday, March25,  at 6.30 a.m. This is a non-ticketed FREE concert open to all. 
 
Butman back to score

In 2015, Jazz Addicts, along with the NCPA, brought to you the fantastic concert of the Igor Butman quartet, along with the fabulous blind pianist and vocalist from Russia, Oleg Akkuratov, a unique jazz and classical musician. In 2016, Igor Butman brought to you the great multilingual jazz singer ‘Fantine’ of Russian and Dominican descent, whose virtuosity and ability to sing in seven languages held the crowd spellbound. In March, Butman performs again with the unique combination of Akkuratov and Fantine performing together. Tata Theatre, Thursday, 7.00 pm

Fun in a funeral
Marathi film 'Jagaa Vegli Anth Yaatra' is slated to be released in cinema houses on March 23. In the film, noted comedian Bhau Kadam advises educated unemployed youth to take out a ‘Funeral’ procession so that they could earn some money. They follow his advice and the whole gamut of ‘Fun’ starts. Bhau himself runs a canteen to eke out a living. The film was written and directed by Amol Lahande. Suprit Kadam, Onkar Purohit, Vinamra Bhabal and Dr Vishal Gore play the lead roles.

Patil & Godbole felicitated
Young playwright Datta Patil and artist Avinash Godbole were felicitated with “Rangkarmi Sanman” and “Dhyas Sanman” awards at the hands of litterateur Kiran Nagarkar, at a function organised by “Chaitra Chahul” at its 13th annual function, at Ravindra Natya Mandir,  on 'Gudi Padwa'  Patil has received awards for his one act plays like :'Celebration', “Krishnavivar”, Madhyampadolapi”, “Black Out” and “City Light” earlier. He has also been involved in drawing paintings and has been organising art exhibitions  since 1977 despite suffering from paralysis.  On the occasion MP and ICCR Chief Vinay Sahasrabudhe was honoured by journo Ambarish Mishra. Veteran actor Mohan Joshi was also felicitated on the occasion. 'Chaitrya Chahul, secretary Vinod Pawar compered the programme.

Sanskruti Kaladarpan drama contest
The 'Sanskruti Kaladarpan Sanstha', engaged in felicitating talented Marathi film and stage artists, has announced the results of the first round of the 18th professional drama competition. The final round of selected plays will be held from April to 9 April at Yashwant Natya Mandir, Matunga

Out of 25 entries received from Mumbai and Pune, five plays were selected for the final round. They include 'Welcome Zindagi' (Trikut,), 'Sangit Devbabhali' (Bhadrakali ), 'Ananya' (Sudhir Bhat Theatres), “Makad” ( Shri Swami Samarth Arts) and “Ashihi Shyamchi Aai” (Sudhir Bhat).
