Vasant-otsav concert
Eminent artists from the Hindustani classical music world and theatre, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Shankar Mahadevan, Rakesh Chaurasia, Rahul Deshpande, Mahesh Kale, and Subodh Bhave are to perform at the 10th Vasantotsav to be held in memory of the legendary Indian classical vocalist, Dr.Vasantrao Deshpande in Mumbai on December 23 and 24 at the Shanmukhananda hall.

Birju Maharaj Kathak contest
For the first time Kalasharam has organised a Kathak contest which will be held at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) Tata Theatre on December 21. Kathak dancers from different cities including London will participate in the contest and the best dancer will win the Pandit Birju Maharaj Crown. The contest will be judged by veterans in the field and the performances will be witnessed by celebrities and other dignitaries.

Sairat girl’s next movie
'Sairat' girl Rinku Rajguru will be essaying a role in National award winning film maker Makarand Mane’s new Marathi film 'Kagar', which is a political thriller. The shooting for the film is expected to start next month. However, the film maker has kept vital details about the film under wraps. He had earlier produced Marathi film 'Ringan', a film depicting the heart-warming journey of a father and his 7-year-old son to find his mother.
