‘Geet Ramayan’ revisited!

The classic ‘Geet Ramayan’ composed by writer G.D.Madgulkar and Sudhir Phadke is now being brought in a new avatar called ‘Nritya Sajiv Geet Ramayan’ by Ramesh Dev Productions of Ajinkya Dev and Abhinay Dev, with live music and dance compositions. The singers are Ajit Parab, Hrishikesh R, Vibhavari A and Shamika B. The performance will be held on September 30, 6:30 pm at the Shanmukhanand Hall.

SRK graces ‘cultural ambassador’ Hema’s dance event

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, (who was launched by ‘director’ Hema Malini in her 1992 movie ‘Dil Aashna Hai ), lit the traditional lamp to mark open the ‘Synergy’ vibrant Indo-Georgian fusion cultural dance-fest last Friday evening, under the auspices of ‘Jayasmriti’. This was followed by speeches of the State Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other dignitaries like Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who showered lavish praises on the actress-danseuse-turned Member of Parliament Hema Malini, for keeping the traditions of India alive as the ‘cultural ambassador’. While hubby Dharmendra was unable to make it, as he was shooting at a distant location, the celebs turn-out included Rashmi Thackeray, Govinda, Ramesh Sippy, Kiran Joneja, Esha Deol, Ahana Deol and Tapsee Pannu. Besides the spectacular Georgian ballets, a surprise dance with the Georgian dancers, was performed by Hema Malini which was specially choreographed by Shiamak Davar.

Music launch of ‘Halaal’ held!

Forthcoming Marathi film ‘Halaal‘, directed by National award winning director Shivajibhau Lotan Patil, has already created a buzz before its official release, having won various awards. Recently, the music of this film was launched in Mumbai. The film’s story is based on Rajan Khan’s story ‘Halaala’ and highlights the social problems of Muslim women in today’s changing world. The film is due for release on October 6. The film has two meaningful songs with music provided by Vijay Gatlewar. The film stars Chinmay Mandlekar, Pritam Kagne, Priyadarshan Jadhav and Vijay Chavan.

‘Zindagi Virat’ to release September-end

Director Sumitbhau Sanghmitra’s ‘Zindagi Virat’ is about how fathers have expectations from their sons, whom they have reared with much care and hardship. This is the story of a son who tries to fulfill his father’s last wish and is set in small village. The film written and directed by Sumit Sanghmitra has music by Suraj Dhiraj .The film stars Om Raut, Sumit Sanghmitra, Ninad Gore, Usha Naik, Bhau Kadam, Kishor Kadam and Atul Parchure, among others.

‘Bhavishyachi…’ set for release!

Everyone is interested in knowing the future right from our horoscope to the daily predictions in the newspapers, now producer Ramesh Talware and and Chandra Talware and director Surendra Verma present ‘Bhavishyachi Aishi Taishi’ a tale about three friends , one who believes in astrology, one who doesn’t and one who is doubtful. The film stars Varsha Usgaonkar, astrologer master Sandeep Kocchar, Asawari Joshi, Swapnil Joshi (new), Pankaj Vishnu, Ananda Karekar, Kishore Nadlaskar, and Pravin Talware. The Music is by Salil Amrute. The film releases on October 6.
