Aamir’s rockstar cousin Tariq launches ‘R D Burmania’
Reigning mega-hit ‘Dangal’ star Aamir Khan’s first cousin, Tariq Khan, who was tagged the dancing ‘rock-star’ of the 70’s, released the current edition of the popular book ‘R D Burmania’ authored by senior entertainment journalist, Chaitanya Padukone, along with composer Anand (of the Anand-Milind duo). Incidentally, the same duo had scored the chartbusting music of Aamir Khan’s debut hit film ‘Qayamat Sey Qayamat Tak’. The RDB-centric enlightening houseful event was convened by Pune-based ‘PanchamMagic’ fans association last week to mark the 23rd death anniversary of the celebrated Bollywood composer R D Burman. Although Tariq was making his formal public appearance after a long hiatus of 15 years, he made his zestful stage-entry as he ‘danced’ to one of his songs, sporting his trademark sunglasses. “It’s my honour to soft-launch this classic memoirs book ‘R D Burmania’, as I also owe my stardom during the 70’s mainly to the genius composer, besides my uncle Nasir Hussain-saab,” smiled Tariq, who has various iconic RDB retro-chartbusters picturised on him including ‘Tum Kya Jaano’ (sung by RDB), ‘Kya Hua Tera Vaada’, ‘Lekar Hum Deewana’ and ‘Aap Ke Kamre Mein’.
