Pratahswar concert series
'Pratahswar' is a monthly Sunday early morning concert series of Indian Classical Music, features mainly young talented artistes and also, at times, senior established artistes. “Pratahswar” has never repeated any artiste in all its 82 concerts till date. Pratahswar has featured artistes ranging from the upcoming brigade such as Samrat Pandit, Sahana Banerjee and Ramakant Gaikwad to veteran musicians such as Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ulhas Kashalkar and N. Hindustani Music Recital
In collaboration with ITC-SRA (Western Region) Paramananda Roy was initiated into music by his flautist father, Gopal Roy from whom he received training for over 19 years. Purvi Parikh is an ‘A’ grade artiste of AIR and has studied with Niyaz and Faiyaz Ahmed Khan of the Kirana gharana .She is also a ganda-bandh shagird of Vilayat Khan and is studying light classical music under Girija Devi. Contemporary Nritya Utsav
The NCPA presents the world premiere of Agni, Navdhara India Dance Theatre’s (NIDT) latest contemporary dance theatre work by choreographer Ashley Lobo. Commissioned by the Tel Aviv based Suzanne Dellal Centre where its international premiere is slated for in March 2017.. We purify to destroy and destroy to purify. In this work, the dancers, using Lobo's Prana Paint technique, take the audience on a scintillating journey of Agni as they seek the end. A journey that needs to be experienced more than seen. at Jamshed Bhabha Theatre, Thurs, 7 pm.
