Nrithyakalanjali Institute of Fine Arts (Ambernath), presented the first Bharata Natyam debut performance by Disha Jain at the Ravindra Natya Mandir. Disha performed selected items from the Bharata Natyam repertoire with lot of enthusiasm.
Nrithyakalanajali Institute is headed by accomplished Bharata natyan and Kuchipudi exponent, Ramesh Koli. He has established this institute with the intention of promotion and propagation of classical arts. Several students are learning Bharata natyam which is creditable.
Disha Jain is a charming dansuese and she commenced the performance with the traditional invoctory numbers followed with the Khamaj Jaitswaram which formed a fine synthesis of both music and melody. In Hari Tum Haro the dancer depicted the episodes like Draupadi Haran and Prahlada with dramatic appeal, Besides the Varnam, Disha danced Bho Shambho in praise of Lord Shiva and concluded the performance with Abhang and Thillans. With more concentration towards the finer aspects of dancing,Disha can definitely aspire to become a fine exponent
Disha recieved fine orchestral support from Guru Ramesh Koli on nattuvangam, Sivaprasad, Rajendra Naidu,Manoj and Meghna Desai, mridangam by Dakshinamurty, flute by Ramchandram pakhawaj and ghatam by Avinash. On the whole, a pleasing recital.
