Senior yet evergreen, prolific Marathi and Hindi actress Kishori Shahane who is among the icons of Maharashtrian ethnic culture and her Bollywood director husband Deepak Balraj Vij ( of ‘Sailaab’ fame) are proud parents today.

That’s because their tall, tough and talented 22-year old model-actor son Bobby Vij who won the coveted winner title of the recent Mr. Gladrags Manhunt-Mumbai contest is gearing up to ‘wow’ Bollywood. Discloses dad Deepak, “We are planning to cast him in our under-production ‘Taigiri’ (based on social activist Trupti Desai’s crusades) in a cameo role and also in this sequel to my directorial musical super-hit thriller ‘Jaan Tere Naam’ (1992) which had Ronit Roy in the cast.”

Enthuses Kishori, “As a youngster, Bobby always had the glitter of stardust in his eyes and he has acted in four movies including ‘Mumbai Godfather’ and ‘Shirdi Sai Baba’. Acting runs in his genes, so we felt that, being trained hero-material, this is the right time for him to get his big break,” smiles Shahane, who is playing mother to mega-star Kangana Ranaut in her upcoming movie ‘ Simran’.   Does Bobby have an exemplary inspiration-icon.
“Frankly, I wish to be known in future, as a versatile all-rounder, my idol is Hrithik Roshan, who  excels in acting, action and dancing. Luckily, I did get to meet him, ”he signs off.
