Youth found dead in Matunga, ADR registered by Shahunagar Police

An 18 year-old youth was found dead in Matunga where he used to reside on Tuesday after which, the Shahunagar police  registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in the matter.

According to police sources, the deceased who has been identified as Dhiren Bahot allegedly hanged himself with a rope and the matter was reported to the police by his mother. Bahot had appeared for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination which finished recently and was preparing for admissions for higher studies.

“The boy’s father passed away six months back and his mother is a working professional. On Tuesday, when she returned home, she found that the door was locked from inside and on breaking the latch, the dead body was discovered hanging by a rope. The body was rushed to Sion hospital where Bahot was declared dead before admission,” said a police officer from Shahunagar police station.

As per the statement of Bahot’s mother, Dhiren was good in his studies and was confident of securing good grades in his board examinations. He was also not involved ino a love affair and used to devote most of the time to his studies.

“The exact motive behind the act is being established and but the matter is under investigation. We are questioning all concerned people and further details shall be highlighted,” the officer added.
