In a shocking incident, a 27-year-old former women motorcycle coach and road captain at Enfield Rider, allegedly committed suicide. A suicide note, which was found in the apartment, said that she took the drastic step due to a break-up with her boyfriend. She was found hanging on a rope connected to the ceiling fan at her flat in Padmavati Nagar apartment, Goregaon (East) late night on Monday.

According to Dindoshi police sources, the deceased identified as Chetna Nagesh Pandit, was found hanging at her flat where she was residing. She was staying in the flat along with three other girls on rent. No one was present when she took the drastic step.

On the day of incident, one of her roommates, who returned to the flat, found that the door was not being opened in spite of persistent ringing of the door bell. She then rang Chetna's mobile number which was also not responding. Later she sought the help of a key maker from the nearby locality and with help of duplicate key entered the flat only to find Chetna hanging from the ceiling fan.

She immediately informed  her neighbours and Rohini, with whom they had the room agreement, and the police. The police thereafter took Chetna's body to the hospital, sources said.

Chetna's roommates revealed that she was a very nice person who never created any problem for anyone. She used to enjoy her rides, as most of the times she was always  out of Mumbai on her Enfield tours. Chetna was staying with them for the last three to four months.

“We are shocked as to why she took such a drastic step. We never heard of her facing any problem in her life. She was alone and surviving with her younger brother but we don’t have any information about her parents,” they added.

Sources from the police further revealed that she was a former women motor cycle coach and road captain at Enfield Riders. Hailing from Shimoga, Karnataka, she worked at Dirt Bike Rider and was a student of the city-based NSS college.

Her body is lying in the civic run hospital and will be handed over to her family members, police added.
