Alarmed at some private news channels flashing news that Shiv Sena President, Uddhav Thackeray, had indicated that he would consider Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar's offer to the Mahagathbandhan of the opposition, denied that he had any intentions to that effect and termed reports as totally false.

In a statement issued here yesterday, he said that some private news channels have exaggerated his comments. He added that when newspersons from the electronic media blocked his path he had in jest remarked, “Let all offers from everyone come, will see then”.

The Sena president yesterday held a meeting of party cadres to review the party's poll preparedness for the June 25 Legislative Council elections to Mumbai Graduates and Mumbai Teachers constituencies at Rangasharda in Bandra West.

As Thackeray was about to leave after taking the review meeting, media persons wanted to know his reaction on the NCP chief's offer to all anti-BJP political parties to join the Mahagathbandhan of the opposition to which the Sena president initially remarked that it was not right to talk while on the move and would speak later.

However, the media persons from the private news channels blocked Thackeray's path and insisted on his reaction. To which remarked in jest that let all offers from everyone come and will see then and sneaked out of the cordon.

Much to his surprise later, some private news channels began flashing news that Thackeray stated that he will consider NCP chief Sharad Pawars offer and would consider joining the Mahagathbandhan. The Sena termed the news as totally false and that Thackeray had no intentions to that effect.
