The Dindoshi Police recently arrested a former employee of a Lakme Store in Kandivali for robbing Rs. 35,000 when he was employed with them.

Nitesh Harith used a duplicate key and had covered his face and hands in order to avoid being detected by the CCTV cameras. The next day after the robbery, the staff found that the cash was missing and looked into the CCTV footage where they spotted a man wearing a helmet entering the store and decamping with the cash. The staff lodged a complaint with the police station after which the police interrogated all the employees working at the store.

The police were sure that it was an insider job and kept a tab on the current and former employees' movements to ascertain who could have committed the crime. A few days after the robbery, Harith  quit his job and joined a Bandra based saloon.

The police then noticed from the CCTV footage that the accused had worn a ring, which led them to further investigating the habits and walking style of all the present and past employees. After monitoring the same, it led them to doubt Harith's involvement in the crime.

Th cops then arrested Nitesh Harith who confessed to the crime and revealed that he entered the shop using duplicate key, which he made when he was employeed with them.  It took the police two months to investigate the case and arrest Harith.

The police recovered the helmet which he used to hide his identity, shirt, rings, etc. He also revealed that he used to wear full-sleve shirts so that he wouldn't be identified by the police as he had tattoos on both the hands.

The accused is a resident of Mira Road and stays with his family. He was booked under relevant sections of IPC and was sent into police custody.
