The sleuths from Byculla police station have arrested a Nigerian national after he was found in possession of 200 grams cocaine, valued at Rs 14 lakhs.

The accused, Sunday Iguae Negway, was nabbed outside Fine Hotel on Barrister Nath Pai Road near Dockyard station where he had come to deliver the narcotics, neatly wrapped in different pouches, that the police found on him.

The 35-year-old is a Malad resident and had been peddling for a while. The cops had been alerted prior and information regarding his arrival was given by an informer. Negway was arrested on January 9 at 1:40 pm at the said location.

“He has been dealing in contraband for quite some time. The accused is refusing to co-operate and is not really to divulge any details about who was the buyer or anything whatsoever. Segway knows that once he starts talking, he will have speak on many other things,” said an official from Byculla police station, on condition of anonymity.

The accused has been remanded in custody till January 12 and was booked under Sections 8(c) r/w 21(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
