Police caught on camera assaulting youth outside his residence
Maintaining a positive image has always been a challenge for the police department, but it is not always possible for every official to maintain it. The latest incident has come to light is from Dindoshi, where a sub-inspector (SI) was caught on camera assaulting a youth outside his residence.
SI Vijay Motling, attached to the Additional Commissioner of Police (North Region), was found assaulting a youth, Shahid Shifaat, outside his bungalow over some borrowed money. The entire incident was caught on CCTV camera installed in Shahid's bungalow.
Shahid has lodged a complaint against the PSI and ACP Dyaneshwar Jawalkar, Dindhoshi, is investigating the case. In his letter to the police, Shahid says that, ''In 2016 his mother Anis Fatma Khan had taken Rs 3.5 lakh loan from Motling on an interest of 5 to 10 per cent, which we had paid already. Also three cheques issued by us is still with him. Motling is unofficially a money lender, which is his side business.”
Shahid said that the SI went to his house and started abusing his mother and assaulting him. He took Shahid's tempo's key and handed it to one of the society members Ajit Jathar.
Shahid says the society member and Motling has planned this together as they wanted to implicate him and his brother Aman Khan in a false case. Because of these threats they shifted residence as his mother and sister are scared of Motling and Ajit who have good contacts and resources.
Motling said he had given Rs 3.5 lakhs to Shahid's mother a year ago on interest and they were not paying him back. He says they have taken money on interest from several people, and make excuses when asked to return it. He says he came to know that the family is trying to abscond and that's when he accosted them. Senior Police Inspector from Dindoshi, Rajaram Whanmane, said the parties have filed complaints against each other and the ACP of Dindoshi Division, Dyaneshwar Jawalkar, is investigating the case.
