Unrequited love sets up kidnapping of two minors in Malwani

A one sided love affair by a 39 year-old Malwani based man proved majorly fatal for two minors. The arrested Imran Ejaz Khan, was attracted to his neighbour, the mother of two children aged 7 and 5. In a bid to win her trust, he kidnapped the children compelling her to get into a relationship.
The accused and victim, both are residents of Malwani and known to each other very well. On Saturday, Khan kidnapped both the boys from Malwani and took them to a lodge at Shahad near Kalyan.

After the woman noticed both the children missing, she immediately lodged a FIR at the Malwani police station. The Malwani police immediately sprung into action, along with Crime Branch Unit XI and formed several teams for investigation. The Crime branch scanned each and every person who resides near the complainant's house and figured that the accused Imran had been missing from the day of abduction.

In the search, the crime branch checked each and every hotel and lodge in the city. After the police traced Khan's mobile location, the team found out that he was at Kalyan. Investigations also say that Khan had borrowed money from someone, asking the moneylender to deposit some money into his account as he did not have money to survive.

The moneylender immediately informed the police about Khan's call. Without wasting any time, the crime branch rushed to the Shahad railway station from where Khan made last call to the moneylender. After reaching the spot, they spotted Khan walking near the station. The crime branch decided to follow him. Khan walked into a lodge when the team officials quickly caught hold of him and rescued both the children and later took him into custody'', the police said.

According to Senior Police Inspector (SPI) from Crime Branch Unit XI, Chimaji Adhaw said, ''In his confession to the crime branch, the accused said that he wanted to teach the woman a lesson as she refused to get into a relationship; he wanted to get into a physical relationship with the lady and she kept rejecting.'

The children are safe. The accused is a driver by profession and he is a divorcee. Khan has been booked under section 363 and was produced before the court and is in custody, the police added.
