Juveniles loot for new Mobile

Four juvenile loot auto driver for new mobile phone, caught by Vakola police

Four juvenile teenagers have been arrested by the Santacruz east for threatening and looting an autodriver's mobile and valuables.

The four juveniles who were very close buddies, were playing, when the screen of two of the boys mobiles got cracked and broken. After realizing that they will be thrashed at their respective homes for the broken mobiles, they came up with a plan to loot someone and replace their mobiles with that money.

According to the police, the arrested accused are residents of Santacruz east and on Thursday night all of them had gathered for a get together where two of them after some fun time realized that they had broken their mobile phones. The incident was reported on Thursday night where the auto driver was first thrashed by the accused quadruple and later he was threatened on knife point.

"All the boys are aged between 16-18 years and one of them was possessing an expensive mobile handset. After brainstorming for a while in order to get away from the rage of their parents, they decided to execute a robbery plan and target a rickshaw driver. All of them took an auto from Kalina area and took it to Air India Colony which is a deserted area late evening," said a police officer.

After getting there, the driver was thrashed and on knife point and the four juveniles forced the auto driver to give them all his valuables including his mobile phones. The nearby onlookers who witnessed the incident immediately raised an alarm and managed to nab three boys who were later taken to police station where an official complaint was registered against them. The detection team then managed to arrest the absconding fourth accused.

"On Thursday night after all the arrests were made, the accused were booked under section 392 of the Indian PenaL Code. The accused teens wanted to sell the valuables and get the same phones within a short notice so that their parents would never doubt them and all of them are first time offenders having no crime background. They all shall be produced at the juvenile court. No serious harm has been cause to the driver," added the officer.
