Every year, people celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi with a lot of zest and enthusiasm. During the festival, people bring Ganesha idols to their house either for one-and-a -half day, 5 days, 7 days or 11 days. Ganeshostav Mandals in city build huge pandals in their lanes or society and celebrate the festival together. The chants 'Ganpati Bappa Morya' is heard from almost every nook and corner of the city.

The Parel-Lalbaug area is the most renowned for its Ganeshostav.

Ganesh Gallicha Raja, also called 'Mumbaicha Raja' is one of the oldest and most renowned Ganpati pandals in Mumbai.

Founded in 1928, the Ganesh Galli pandal will be celebrating its 91st Ganpati festival this year. Interestingly, it is just a few lanes away from the most popular pandal in city, Lalbaug Cha Raja.

Mumbaicha Raja is also one of the oldest Ganpati pandals in Lalbaug. The Ganesh Galli pandal is well known for its unique themes which are often a replica of popular temples of India. This year, the mandal did a replica of Surya temple in Gwalior and the Ganesh idol this year is on the horse, which displays a replica of Gwalior in the Ganesh idol also.
