According to police officers, the tunnel that had been dug through from the rented shop, is five feet deep. The 25 feet long and 3 feet high tunnel had been made with the help of plywood and bamboos for support.

They had made an arrangement such that  two persons could easily slide and reach the concave spot. The robbers used gunny sacks with mud and threw it at the same place.

An officer further added, “The accused had taken the shop on rent six months ago. They used to sell farsan in the shop but according to residents, the shop remained shut most of the time.”
