EXHIBITION @ Studio3 Art Gallery

An exhibition of Paintings “The eternal city of Benaras” by artist Ashif Hossain will be displayed at the Studio3 Art Gallery, Veer Nariman Road, Churchgate. Ashif masterfully uses acrylic paint to create stunning scenes of Benaras in a multitude of shades. Ashif Hossain hails from Kolkata and his paintings predominately dwell on life.

The Ultimate Women Entrepreneurs Carnival 2017 @ The Art Hub, Atria Mall, WORLI
FICCI Ladies Organization hosts FLO Mumbai Magic Bazaar 2017. The ladies organization of FICCI, this will be one big gala affair with 100 women entrepreneurs from across India. Clothing to Accessories, Home Furnishing to Spices, from bead bags to shoes from food specialties to artistic jewellery, the event will house all unique products under one roof. Demonstrations on Gond art, Warli art, saree draping workshop, wire art by, face shape analysis will keep the visitors immersed. The show also promises a combination of power packed activities like Workshops on latest trends like Bridal Tips, Talks and Live Demonstrations, Contests, Fashion Show and more at the 2-day carnival. Indo-China Music Festival @ ROYAL OPERA HOUSE
To enhance  Indo-China relations and improve cultural exchange, Musician's Federation of India (MFI) is hosting the second edition of “Silk Road", an Indo-China music concert tour that will be held at Charni Road, near the Girgaum Chowpatty beach. Eight artists from China will be performing with 3 Indian artists. Several popular and talented musicans like Cao Yanli, Chen Feng, Luo Zhangcheng, Chen Yuqi, Xie Dongxiao, Chen Yifei, Zheng Ce, will be performing at the festival. Free donor passes will be available at the venue.

Talk on Art and Legal Framework @ PIRAMAL MUSEUM OF ART
The event will shed light on the nuances of the Indian legal system and its position on art sale transactions. The talk will be preceded by a Walk with the Curator. Legal expert Tejeshree Savara Mathur’s lecture will introduce the audience to Art Law and dwell on the rise of fakes in the art world, the issues of authentication that arise and the importance of due diligence while transacting art. Art Historian and Director of Piramal Art Foundation, Ashvin Rajagopalan’s lecture will focus on his experience in dealing with the Indian legal system as an art gallerist and director of an art foundation.

The romance and popularity of jazz classics like ‘Take Five’, ‘Satin Doll’, ‘Take the A Train’ and others will be brought to life in a concert. The band, led by India-based American bass player D Wood has a star-studded line-up comprising Australian tenor soprano saxophonist Mike Rivett and a rhythm section featuring Japanese drummer Ko Omura. Rivett is currently Australia's leading saxophone player and was awarded first place in Australia's National Jazz Awards. Omura is the most sought after drummer/percussionist in jazz-crazy Japan because of his versatility. D Wood, a veteran jazz musician on the Mumbai scene is a jazz master, player, arranger and mentor.

The evening will begin with vibrant Bharatanatyam performer – Pavitra Bhat. He has established the Pavitra Art Visual Institute (P.A.V.I.), Mumbai, and is a gold medalist in dance from Mumbai University. Shivarasa is a dance presentation about the nine emotions by the cosmic dancer in the form of Nataraja – the king of dance. Shiva, the cosmic dancer who performs the majestic tandava, is the lord of the rajasabha who dances to the beats of the damaru. Shivay by Anuj Mishra & Troupe Anuj Mishra is impanelled as an established artiste in ICCR and is the main member of the International Dance Council from Europe.
