A total of 705 polling booths have been identified as hypersensitive and sensitive polling booths in Mumbai for the upcoming elections as declared by the election department of the Brihanmumbai municipal Corporation (BMC). All these declared spots will have extra force deployed to maintain law and order on February 21 (voting day).
As many as 74 polling stations have been declared sensitive in Chembur alone by the department and 58 in Govandi and Deonar. South Mumbai too has 17 hypersensitive areas. Returning officers from A-E wards have demanded extra force at areas like Colaba, CST, Masjid Bunder, Malabar Hill, Byculla and Tardeo which have been declared as hypersensitive and sensitive areas.
