'Diwali Pahat' (Diwali Dawn) — a soulful morning music concert infusing divinity into rhythms — organised by the Versova Assembly segment of the Shiv Sena at Andheri West on Wednesday was a mesmerising experience with the audience getting a feast of a fusion of classical music, Marathi 'bhaavgeets' and folk songs.

The singers, Amey Date, Jitendra Tupe, Aparna Nagarkatti and Mithila Mali, regaled the audience by presenting soulful and spirited songs in a programme  co-ordinated by Yogesh Kelwekar. The ensemble was embellished with many mellifluous Marathi and Hindi songs.

The programme began with Ganesh Vandana. Then the artists vied with each other in presenting many popular songs including 'Majhya Ghari Diwali', 'Jiva Shivachi Bailjodi' and 'Mala Lalgli Kunachi Uchaki'. The concert  concluded with 'Aye Mere Vatan Ke Logo' — an immortal patriotic song by the youngest singer Mithila.

'Diwali Pahat' is being organised by the former Shiv Sena corporator, Shailesh Phanse, for the last 16 years, without break, providing a cultural and musical feast to local residents. Shiv Sena MP Gajanan Kirtikar was the chief guest on the occasion.

Shiv Sena MLC Anil Parab, Upvibhag Pramukh Rajesh Shetye, Corporators Pratima Khopade, former corporator Bala Amberkar,Shakha Pramukhs- Sudhakar Ahire and President of the Karmveer Gaikwad Sanstha Vijay Jadhav and others were also present.
