Trishla is the face of Colour Me Mad as Founder and Designer, conceptualized in 2014, who took up the challenge to make footwear colourful and creative and that too proudly made in India. She is a commercial artist by qualification and die-hard innovator at heart. She is married to Rajeev Surana who is the co-founder and also a mom of two beautiful daughters who model for CMM. Ably assisted by Rajeev who is a Patent Attorney, he brings strategic marketing initiatives such as owning hashtags #PamperYourFeet #HappyFeet, organizing pop up events, and many more.
In conversation with Dominic Rebello, Trishla says, “Since the foot has been long ignored by people, we aim to provide happy feet to our customers through footwear and foot care products.”

What is the idea behind Colour Me Mad?
Colour Me Mad (known as CMM in short) started with a concept to provide creative and colourful footwear to challenge the status quo and disrupt the footwear market with innovation in design, colours and concepts. We want customers to customize their footwear and are inching closer to the same.
Our new range of CMM Freedom will go live on Indiegogo, a crowdfunding platform on our Founder’s birthday today (13th April).

How are you different from others?
CMM combines health with fashion and wants everyone to own healthy feet. Therefore we use cork which is a wonder material for one’s feet and make cork footwear which takes care of your health with quirky and vibrant prints. We are completely handcrafted and also work on the cause of ‘Footwear for the Underprivileged’ so that every foot in this country has a pair of footwear so that they can go miles.

Our entire organization works on innovation; be it in terms of product, material use, marketing campaign, display and even small things such as exchange of size at no extra cost so that more and more customers can order online at their convenience.  

Any expansion plans?
We are currently in 9 cities mainly in South India and we will be entering high street locations at a couple of airports and large retailers this year. We are also starting international shipping soon on our website. We are focusing on South and West India markets right now.

Your vision for the company?
Colour Me Mad wants to own the foot as a category and provide happy feet to its customers through footwear and foot care products since foot have been long ignored by people be in terms of wearing wrong footwear or not taking care of issues such as flat feet or collapsed arches.

Where do you see yourself five years down the road?
Colour Me Mad will be an enviable and respected brand in footwear and footcare category very proudly 'Made In India' with an international customer profile. In terms of revenues, we hope to achieve a turnover of Rs. 100 crore and to achieve that we are fundraising at this point in time.
Our experience in Milan & Dubai has given us the confidence to go global since customers and even shoe designers there could not believe that our product is made in India so we are happy about the same.
