Bandhan Bank shares gain nearly 4% post Q3 results
Shares of Bandhan Bank yesterday rose nearly 4% after the company reported a 10.3% jump in net profit for the quarter ended December 31. The stock gained 3.82% to close at Rs 471.70 on the BSE. During the day, it surged 4.54% to Rs 475. At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), shares of the company jumped 3.84% to close at Rs 472.90 apiece. Private sector lender Bandhan Bank yesterday reported a 10.3% rise in net profit to Rs 331.25 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2018. The bank had recorded a net profit of Rs 300.04 crore in the year-ago period. Total income of the lender also increased to Rs 1,883.65 crore during October-December 2018, compared with Rs 1,336.42 crore over the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, the bank said in a statement.
    
'An 8% rise in hiring in Dec'18, led by auto, HR'
There has been 8% increase in hiring during December 2018, compared to the same month of previous year led by auto or ancillary industry and the human resource domain, according to a report. According to the Naukri JobSpeak Index for December 2018, there was a growth of 8% in hiring from December 2017, where recruitment activities in the auto and auto ancillary industry recorded a an increase of 24% and the HR domain grew by 17%. The IT-Software witnessed a growth of 14% as compared to December 2017, it added. The index has been calculated based on job listings added on the Naukri site month on month.

Maruti Suzuki hikes vehicle prices by up to Rs 10,000
Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) yesterday said it has increased prices of its select models by up to Rs 10,000 with immediate effect to offset adverse impact of increase in commodity prices and foreign exchange rates. "The price change varies across models and ranges up to Rs 10,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi)," MSI said in a statement. While most of the company's models would see an increase in price, the recently launched new version of Ertiga has been left out of the exercise. MSI sells a range of vehicles starting from entry-level Alto 800 to the premium crossover S-Cross that were priced between Rs 2.53 lakh and Rs 11.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) before the price hike.

UC, RSVP tie-up for URI: The Surgical Strike
UC Browser, the world’s No.1 third-party mobile browser, has tied up with the production banner RSVP Movies to promote Bollywood’s latest action drama, URI: The Surgical Strike. The trailer of the movie has been trending on UC Browser and UC News since early December, with the trailer GIF garnering 15% more than average views on the UC platforms.
As a Trending Partner for RSVP Movies, UC has been sharing latest updates about the movie and its stars for its wide user base of 130 million in India. UC Browser will also host the film’s actors Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam on its platform for a live and fun chat session. This is Yami’s second outing on the UC platforms, she earlier interacted with UC fans during the promotions of Batti Gul Meter Chalu.

IL&FS gets over 30 EOIs for sale of its domestic roads vertical
Debt-ridden Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services (IL&FS) yesterday said it has received more than 30 expressions of interest (EOI) for acquiring its stakes in its 22 assets across its domestic road vertical as a part of its asset monetisation plan. "IL&FS has received a strong response to the asset monetisation process for the domestic roads vertical housed under its subsidiary, IL&FS Transportation Networks. More than 30 expressions of interest were received for acquiring IL&FS' interests in its 22 assets across its domestic road vertical," IL&FS Transportation Networks, a group company of the troubled IL&FS group, said in a BSE filing.

Toll collections may witness double-digit growth in FY'20: ICRA
Toll collections are likely to witness a double-digit growth in the next financial year, propelled by an increase in commercial vehicle sales and wholesale price index (WPI), rating agency ICRA said yesterday. "Driven by strong growth in medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV), along with an increase in WPI, toll collections are likely to witness a significant growth in 2019-20," ICRA said in a statement. A high growth in automotive sales would subsequently lead to growth in traffic volumes, it said.

TEXPROCIL welcomes increase in GST exemption
The 32nd meeting of the GST Council held yesterday has raised the GST exemption threshold limit from Rs.20 lakhs to 40 lakhs effective from April 1, 2019. Welcoming the decision , Dr. K. V. Srinivasan , Chairman of The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion  Council (TEXPROCIL)  said ,”This decision will help the small and medium sized businesses  and will encourage growth in the textiles sector”. The GST Council has also raised the existing Composition Scheme turnover threshold from Rs. 1 crore to Rs 1.5 crore effective from April 1, 2019. Businesses under the scheme will now pay tax on a quarterly basis but returns will have to be filed annually. “The expansion of the Composition Scheme has come as relief to a  large number of small tax payers who are not in a position to file returns on time” , according to the TEXPROCIL Chairman.

JITO, Mumbai organizes Ghatkopar Marathon
With an aim of creating awareness among the people about dialysis, JITO, Mumbai (Ghatkopar Chapter) has organized Ghatkopar Marathon on 27th January. A special format has been prepared to attract as many more people to participate in this event. He further said that this is the second year of Ghatkopar marathon and we expect that over 4000 people would take part in the event this year. Through the medium of the marathon, we also expect financial help from the people, so we can fulfil our objective and become successful.
