Shatrughan Sinha: 'So fortunate, am not there in the #MeToo list'

Although his favourite catchword is ‘khaamoshh’, benevolent veteran stylised star-actor and politician MP Shatrughan Sinha, fluently fires his torrent of verbal salvos with a dash of wacko humor. The occasion was the release of a premium ‘horror-history-centric’ premium four-volumes ‘coffee table book titled ‘A Touch of Evil’ authored by retro-Bollywood savvy Dhruv Somani (otherwise, a textile tycoon) where the suave Sinha (accompanied by his charming wife Poonam) was the guest of honour. The author Dhruv whose scare-fare book is a “visual delight”, had also invited style-icon-model-actress Aarti Gupta, who is also known for her milestone retro-horror movie ‘Purana Mandir’.

Incidentally, Shatrughan has also acted in several horror movies, but the one that has major sentimental value for him is Ramsay production ‘Ek Nanhi Munhi Ladki Thi’ (1970).

“Whilst shooting for this movie, I not only got my blessings from co-actor iconic Prithviraj Kapoor but also got to work with beautiful actress Mumtaz,” confides Sinha.

Apparently in a masti-mazaak mood, the outspoken Sinha quipped that in today’s ‘#MeToo era, behind every successful man’s downfall is also the horror of being tarnished by a woman.

Proclaimed Sinha,”I really call myself fortunate that in today's times, despite whatever that I've done, my name hasn't come out in the #MeToo movement. I highly appreciate and applaud those women, who, have better late than never, have come forward... I salute their courage and guts,” said the senior actor when asked about his stance on the touchy issue.
