Was Himesh Reshammiya happy with the latest ‘recreated version’ of his own chartbuster song Aashiq banaaya aapne ( 2005), now reprised in producer Bhushan Kumar’s movie Hate Story-4 directed by Vishal Pandya, at the launch of the song?

The song  has Urvashi Rautela making sensuous movements even as she ‘lip-syncs’ to singer Neha Kakkar’s seductive voice. Fortunately, Himesh’s voice ( a few lines) has been retained in the reprised version and has merited a phenomenal hits-views on-line response.

Gushes Urvashi an ‘aashiq of Himesh’s songs’: “Since I know ten different forms of dancing, I wished to perform something different so we incorporated the  difficult ‘heels choreography’  innovated  by Yanis Marshall, in my song Aashiq banaaya and it has been highly appreciated. Moreover, this is my first heroine-centric movie with different layers to my lead character of a ‘super-model’,” shrugs Rautela, who reveals that off-screen, she believes in ‘love-at-first-sight’.

Enthuses singer Neha, “It’s an honour to sing this recreation and people are simply loving it.” Curiously enough, the original composer-singer of  Aashiq banaaya Himesh was not at all peeved, rather he defended it.

“Change in everything, including music  is a must. Old iconic songs need to be given a fresh twist and be taken to the next level to connect with the next-gen. Most importantly, ‘recreation’ should be done ‘correctly’ retaining the soul and sensibility of the original track. This recreated song of mine by Tanishk is simply zabardast,” says Himesh.
