The Modern Indian Bistro
If you are in Lower Parel either for lunch or dinner, it might be worth your while to check out the menu introduced by Farzi Café at its outlets in Kamala Mills and High Street Phoenix.

Conceptualised as a Modern Indian Bistro, Farzi Café is known for its amalgamation of traditional Indian cuisine with modern flavors.

The new menu includes dishes like Patrani Machhi, steamed parcels served with potato strings and aam laungi; paneer chilli with chana dal crisp; crab meat bhurji and cheese chilli poppers with sweet chilli drizzle for starters.

The main course includes Meen Varuval with Malagapodi uttapam; Awadhi Mutton Biryani Bowl; Tibetan Noodle Soup Bowl; Asparagus Cherry Tomato Bharta, Baigun Bhaji with Methi Paratha; braised mutton Laal Maas, buttermilk barley khichdi with kachori crumble.

For dessert don’t miss the Red Velvet Instant Cake with Maakhan Malai.

Canada’s comfort food
The Poutine Fest at BAR BAR has been extended till May 13. BAR BAR, described as India’s first bar with wholesale pricing is presenting a menu of fries and curries with 10 poutine dishes that can go as a side, or a main with your favourite pint.

Poutines have long been Canada’s comfort food and are said to be "the perfect thing after a night of drinking", say the good folk at BAR BAR. “With this festival, our chefs have given this historical dish a complete makeover. Taking the humble potato and highlighting it in all its glory from wedges to mash and ‘Salli’ to fries, this festival has something for everyone.” Highlights include Chaat Poutine (potato dices, sprouts, chilli cheese sauce, green chillies and tamarind sauce),Oink Oink Poutine (shoe strings fries, bacon bits, ham, pork sausages and belly),Korean Kimchi Poutine (potato wedges, gochujang chilli cheese sauce and fried sesame noodles) and Mac N Cheese Poutine (potato smiles, aged cheddar cheese, parsley and jalapenos)

While the word Poutine in Canadian slang actually means ‘Mess’, the BAR BAR people say these are insta-worthy.

Indoor picnics
Just when an outdoor summer picnic in Mumbai seemed like an over-ambitious idea, Gateway Taproom has lined up their kegs, kitchen army and a stack of board games with an upbeat picnic feel and décor. The month-long picnic at their BKC outlet is accompanied by three craft beers and freshly baked flatbreads with toppings.
Take a sip of the refreshing Valencia Orange Wheat with citrusy notes or opt for the copper-hued aromatic and aptly named Picnic Ale. Or try ‘Time Please’ and check out their naturally soured ale made with locally grown wheat and barley malt. There are eight summer flatbreads, including ‘The Mangonificent Flatbread’ with mango, arugula pesto and feta, ‘Appley Ever After’ with apple, goat cheese, jaggery and walnut candy and others with toppings selected by foodies. There are special cocktails and mocktails to complete the experience.

Egg-free Parfait
Founded by Sharmeen Indorewala, The Parfait Co. is India’s (and the world’s) first packaged French Parfait brand. French Parfait is a cold dessert-like ice-cream but is richer in texture and flavour. Traditionally, it is made with four ingredients – egg, sugar, cream, and a flavour (chocolate, fruit), making it off-limits for strict vegetarians and egg-sensitive customers. The Parfait Co now launches egg-free parfaits using a whey protein from Germany as a replacement for the eggs. The parfaits are currently available in four flavours – Belgian Chocolate, Passion Fruit, Salted Caramel and Hazelnut Crème. They are priced at Rs 99 (inclusive of taxes) for 100-ml single serve tubs. The products have no added stabilisers, preservatives, additives or colorants and are gluten free, the company says.

Luxury chocolate workshop
The Dessert Street, a personalised dessert kitchen founded by Dhawal Shah, a Le Cordon Bleu chef, is hosting a two-day chocolate making workshop. The workshop is open for beginners as well as advanced learners.

Gola cocktails
Copa introduces tangy icy gola, a street-inspired cocktail made with shaved ice and doused in 'kala khatta' syrup with sweet and sour masalas and finally splashed with vodka! You can also try a host of other drinks, including apple pie infused tea and a ginger-spiked apple and pear muddle.

Summer drinks
Nara introduces summer drinks inspired by Thailand. Sip on chilled handcrafted summer cocktails like Chiang Rai (Mango and Galliano), a concoction of vodka, fresh mango puree, Galliano, lime juice, nutmeg and mint; Chiang Mai (Mango Mojito) made with Bacardi, fresh mango chunks, lime and lychee juice, kaffir lime and tonic; if you like a tropical cocktail try the Mae Sot (Pineapple And Bacardi) mixed using Bacardi, pineapple shrub, mint leaves, lime juice and fresh pineapple chunks. There are several others to choose from.

Non-alcoholic coolers include Hat Yai (Coconut And Coriander) made of coconut water, elder flower syrup, lime juice, coriander leaves, cumin seeds and chilled water and Rosemary And Earl Grey Cooler with fresh rosemary stems, earl grey, start anise and chilled water.

The bartenders will  shake, stir and muddle your cocktails at your table.
