A Noble Initiative

The Robin Hood Army is a worldwide organisation provisioning food to innumerable less-fortunate ones and eliminating wastage seamlessly. Rain or shine, over 14,000 + volunteers spread smiles every single day, waging a war against hunger. The Robin Hood Army is a volunteer-based organisation that works to get surplus food from restaurants to the less fortunate. It is a decentralised organisation, with volunteers distributing food in their localities.

The Daily Bar and Kitchen enthusiastically supports the Robin Hood Army in their constant endeavour to feed famished souls. They have connected with the Robin Hood Army to be a part of this noble initiative.

Sharing light on the food wastage scenario in India, the owner of The Daily Bar and Kitchen, Dishant Pritamani explains what enticed him into being a part of this movement.

“With over 795 million people receiving inadequate amounts of food, it’s fairly clear that one out of nine people do not have access to the required level of food consumption. That’s incentive enough for us to reach out meals to those who most need it. And so, our ground rules are clear; we do not distribute leftovers or inedible foods only the meals we can eat ourselves.”

It's an example worth following, we believe!

Photography by a 6-year-old
The Photographic Society of India is showcasing an unusual exhibition starting today, Friday, April 13. Runil Sonawane has captured the beauty of Nimdari village in Junnar taluka, 200 km. from Mumbai. Nimdari, which has lush fields ensconced by beautiful mountains, is carpeted by a variety of flowers.

Every picture tells a story. Runil has captured the images on his Canon Powershot G12 and the heavier Nikon D810, Nikon D3 cameras.
