Humour and emotion

Imli Papita Tarbuz is a play by Ansh Production, presented by NCPA. It is a family-friendly play in Hindi and English. A story about cousins, this play features Sunny and Ririe, who are excited to leave for Disneyland. However when a family emergency brings their cousins from Konkan to Mumbai, conflicts arise. The three cousins, Imli, Papita, and Tarbuz, are not welcomed by Sunny and Ririe, leading to a series of funny and poignant moments that create lifelong bonds.

Makarand Deshpande is responsible for the story and creative direction. The Ansh production is 100 minutes long, and has been directed by Tejas Malap. The cast includes Aakansha Gade, Anvay Ashtivkar, Bharat More, Mayui Mohite, Ankit Mhatre and others.

Unsleeping city

The Siddhus of Upper Juhu, a play by Rage Productions, offers a story of a typical family in Mumbai. Balvinder (Bubbles), his brother Goldie Siddhu, sisters Pammi and Smiley, and his devoted Parsi wife Behroze, live on the 14th floor of Sea View Towers, a modern highrise in Upper Juhu (read: Andheri). Despite its name, Sea View Towers offers no more than a ‘sea glance’, and although the family has poured their life savings into this flat, everything seems to be going wrong.

Streets of Lucknow

Pankaj Kapur’s Dopheri  is Theatron’s first production, a play set in the streets of Lucknow where rests the haveli of Amma Bi. She is an old, lonely woman, whose story is one of self-discovery from loneliness. Dopheri is a novella written by Pankaj Kapur, adapted to the stage.
